Samantha Davidson Green

Filmmaker Samantha Davidson Green was raised in New England, earned her BA in English/Humanities at Stanford University, and her MFA in Film Directing at UCLA. Prior to film school, Samantha taught high school in Crystal Springs, Mississippi where she discovered her love of filmmaking and met neighbor Mr. Jimmy Moore, who would become the subject of documentary film MR. JIMMY'S BIRTHDAY CHALLENGE years later. Samantha makes both documentary and fictional films, including narrative short DEAD END JOB (winner, Tribeca Film Festival Best Student Film Award). She has just finished her first feature film, THRASHER ROAD, teaches Film Directing at Dartmouth College, and lives in Plainfield, NH and Brooklyn, New York with her husband and three sons.
