The short story is that I was born on 9/2/38, got a degree in architecture and started making Super 8 street films during lunch break when I was working at a Philadelphia architect's office. I went to Penn State to teach architecture, started making films when I was there in '68, '69, formed a commercial film company to support making documentary films when I was in State College. Teamed up with Ken Thigpen who was a professor in the English Department at Penn State. We made a number of documentary films together and started the "Slice of Life" film festival while we were at Penn State. That festival went on for fifteen years until both Ken and I left State College. I started practicing architecture in 1985 and have been doing that since then.
