John Lightfoot

As a documentary filmmaker, John Lightfoot has made films about professional wrestlers, mining towns, machine gun inventors, the demise of Minneapolis' skid row district, blues musicians in Oakland, CA, and subterranean geological phenomena in Southern New England. His work has screened at art museums and film festivals nationally, and been broadcast on PBS. He currently manages the California Documentary Project, a grant program for film, audio and interactive media projects that document California in all its complexity. He attended NYU (BA), Brown University (MA), and San Francisco State University (MFA).
