Jack Santino |
Jack Santino was a Professor of Popular Culture at Bowling Green State University and Director of the Bowling Green Center for Culture Studies. He is the author of numerous books and articles on ritual, celebrations, and holidays; including Public Performances: Studies in the Carnivalesque and the Ritualesque . Along with Paul Wagner, Santino produced the Emmy Award-winning documentary, Miles of Smiles, Years of Struggle, a film about the history of the African American Pullman Porters. He is a former editor of the Journal of American Folklore and past president of the American Folklore Society. He was the Alexis de Tocqueville Professor, Fullbright Chair, University of Paris.
